The Center of Obsterics and Gynecology (Tertiary Referral hospital, Vilnius perinatal center) for learning, research and treatment in obstetrics and gynaecology covers ? of all perinatal tertiary care in Lithuania. The Center has 6 departments: department of obstetrics (emergency room, 11 delivery rooms), High risk pregnancy department, Neonatal department, Gynecology department (general and oncogynaecology), Santaros Fertility center, Outpatient department - Perinatology coordination center and Gynecology outpatient unit. The departments relevant to the Ob/Gyn training programme: Center of Abdominal surgery, Center for Medical Genetics, Centre of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Therapy and Pain Management, National Institute of Cancer (for breast pathology). Number of deliveries/year 3000, inductions 22%, Caesarean section 22 %, Forceps deliveries 0,5 %, Vacuum extractions 2,7 %, Vaginal breech deliveries 25 %. ART cycles – 400/year. Number of major surgical procedures/year – 900 (oncological surgery -180, laparoscopic surgery – 260). ) Number of minor surgical procedures/ year – 1900 (minor/intermediate laparoscopies – 500, therapeutic hysteroscopies – 900). The center has simulator equipment.
