SUMMARY:Antenatal Computerised Fetal Heart Monitoring (RCOG)
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n  \nFetal heart rate assessment is routinely used in the antenatal assessment of pregnant women. Visual analysis of antenatal cardiotocography (CTG) is common practice. Both the Cochrane Review and Saving Babies’ Lives Care Bundle (Version 2) recommend the use of computerised CTG in preference to the visual analysis of the CTG.Computerised analysis of fetal heart rate tracing has several advantages. Numerous publications have shown that computerised analysis is highly repeatable\, objective and reduces the monitoring time. \nThe training in computerised antenatal CTG is expected to directly reduce perinatal mortality and its use is expected to reduce monitoring duration. In addition\, the usage of an objective method of analysis of FHR tracing is likely to reduce litigation costs for healthcare trusts. Computerised analysis is likely to reduce inappropriate intervention by staff not adequately trained in the visual analysis of CTG. \nThe objective of this course is to provide training for the performance\, interpretation and application of computerised antenatal CTG for various indications in clinical practice. Delegates will have an opportunity to learn from world-leading experts covering both the essential and comprehensive knowledge of the use of cCTGs.

It was established in conjunction with his clinical fellows with the concept of creating a platform where high quality endoscopic training and education could be freely accessible to all\, on both a national and international scale. \nThe annual Winners Meeting developed as a natural progression in a bid to create a unique meeting far removed from the classic congress models. The concept was to bring together young people with a common interest in minimal access surgery where ideas could be exchanged and experiences shared whilst at the same time establishing strong foundations for the next generation of endoscopists.

DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\nThis comprehensive course has been designed to increase your knowledge in the management of women with medical or obstetric complications as well as discussing the roles of neonatology\, anaesthesia and analgesia on the labour ward. \nThe programme includes a rich blend of lectures\, debates and peer discussion – invaluable for clinicians spending a significant amount of time on the labour ward\, or with a major interest in risk management and clinical governance\, audit and guidelines. \nTo further your learning experience and unique to our course\, there are two optional evening workshops covering detailed discussions on human rights and the women’s perspective of birth. \nThis hybrid course is recognised for\, and covers\, the theoretical component of the Advanced Labour Ward Practice and Labour Ward Lead Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSMs)\, which are undertaken as a ST6/7. The courses are valid for three years\, and must be completed prior to completion of the practical component of the ATSMs. Those undertaking the Labour Ward Lead ATSM must also complete the Advanced Labour Ward Practice ATSM\, and should therefore attend all four days.

SUMMARY:Basic Colposcopy Course
DESCRIPTION:The basic Colposcopy courses have been organized since 2012. These courses currently structured according to the EFC’s training program\, and were approved and certified by the EFC (European Federation for Colposcopy) for the first time in 2016. \nThe course provides the basics of introduction to colposcopy. The initial introduction teaches the objectives of the course with theoretical and interactive sessions. These ensure that the student understands the principles of colposcopy and knows how to recognize and identify the lesions in the different images presented\, in order to guide the respective treatment and follow up. \nBasic colposcopy courses are held in partnership with the University of Algarve and NOVA Medical School\, alternately are assigned university credits (ECTS).
