A complex OBGYN department, serving as a tertiary centre for perinatology (EAPM accredited), gynaecologic oncology (ESGO accredited), and urogynaecology (EUGA accredited); with 283 beds, ?4500 deliveries, ? 2000 major and ? 2500 minor gynaecological surgeries, ? 150.000 outpatient visits; the team is composed of 45 specialists, 20 fellows and 25 trainees; well-structured postgraduate training program with individual tutors, regular assessments and annual evaluation of the entire program; institutional program for foreign visiting trainees and fellows in English available in all four main sub-specialties; PhD program available at the 1st Faculty of Medicine (currently 13 students at the Department); weekly institutional educational seminars; trainees and fellows involved in internal audits and evaluations; simulation centre available for obstetrical procedures, laparoscopic surgery and resuscitation training; weekly multidisciplinary boards in perinatology and gynaecologic oncology with active participation of trainees and fellows; a comprehensive research program coordinated by chairs of subspecialties (perinatology, gynaecological oncology, urogynaecology, endoscopic surgery, reproductive endocrinology, IVF unit), 6 ongoing national and international grants, successful publication outcome (?100 peer reviewed publications annually ).
