Number of beds: 48; Outpatient clinic: obstetrics: 7000 visits/year; gynecology: 5500 visits/year. Number of deliveries: 1150; Caesarean section rate: 44% (elective 34.3% and emergency 10.2%); instrumental vaginal deliveries: 6%. The department decreased the CS rate 15% over the last 18 months applying a TOLAC program. Major surgical procedures: abdominal hysterectomies: 130 of which 30% laparoscopically; vaginal hysterectomies: 40; prolapse surgery: 60; major laparoscopic surgery: 30; major oncological surgery: 50; Breast surgery: 15; Many minor surgical procedures as diagnostic laparoscopic procedures, minor/intermediate laparoscopic procedures, curettages, office diagnostic hysteroscopies, therapeutic hysteroscopies, conizations. Trainees’ involvement in surgical procedures: approximately 75%. Structured educational program for trainees: weekly lessons, journal club, special meetings with neonatologists, pathologists etc. Every four months theoretical evaluation with multiple choice test and general evaluation from the academic and NHS staff. Ultrasound Unit accredited by the Hellenic Ministry of Health as teaching unit for ObGyns. Postgraduate Scientific Program “Maternal Fetal Medicine” (18 months). Fellowship in “Maternal Fetal Medicine” (24 months). Research programs: several clinical research programs with trainees involvement in most of them (33 published papers in peer reviewed journals in 2020).
