The Department of Gynaecology and Perinatology has the following units: General Gynaecology and Gynaecological Urology, Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endocrinology, Gynaecological and Breast Oncology, Perinatology with a Neonatal Unit. Population of the area served: approximately 150.000. Number of beds in the Department: general gynaecology: 30; gynaecological oncology and breast oncology: 36; reproductive medicine: 14; obstetrics: 51; Outpatient clinic: 36.880 visits per year; Obstetrics: 7.404 visits and Gynaecology: 29.476 visits; Number of specialists/subspecialists: 37; Number of trainees: 9; Subspecialty units: materno-fetal medicine; reproductive medicine;

Well-organised and well-run training unit with dedicated staff providing training in every aspect of the general obstetric and gynaecological training programme

The training unit is well-equipped for training purposes which includes a simulation centre

There is an in-house neonatologist running a large neonatal unit working closely with the obstetricians in both clinical management and training

There are very good training facilities in the Department and nearby Medical faculty

The four sub-specialties of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are integrated in the Department
