The EBCOG/ESCRH Curricula and Exams in Sexual and Reproductive Health Care

There are considerable variations among countries in Europe and beyond as regards the provision of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services.  A joint study conducted by EBCOG and ESCRH revealed a notable absence of educational programs and instruction materials tailored specifically for doctors and allied health care professionals in several countries.  This deficiency clearly impedes in capacity building and implementation of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services based on respect of sexual and reproductive rights and promotion of sexual health for all. Besides mother and childcare, these must include family planning, safe abortion, STI prevention, prevention of and care for victims of sexual violence.

There is a special focus on the young people whose sexual and reproductive health is of utmost importance to the society as a whole.

The EBCOG/ESCRH Joint Committee for Training and Exams in Sexual and Reproductive Health has created diploma and fellowship curricula and exams for all health care professionals involved in sexual and reproductive health care. A detail program for different healthcare professionals with different objectives and with different needs that will be a strong contribution towards the improvement of basic and advance care on sexual and reproductive health.
